Comprehensive Website Redesign & Secure Member Event Portal development
Client approached us with a clear set of functionality-focused goals for their HTML-based website. Their vision was to create a more interactive, member-focused platform that enabled smooth communication, event participation, and content management, without relying on external CMS systems. The client’s primary objectives included:
- Interactive Event Registration System:
- View a calendar of upcoming events
- Register for events with name, contact info, and attendee details
- Optionally select time slots (with visibility toggling)
- Automated email notifications sent to specified recipients upon registration
- Private Member Communication Backend:
- Secure communication system between officers, directors, and members
- Custom login for officers (not via admin panel)
- Role-based message and document sharing
- Internal message board with filtering by role, degree type, title, or individual member
- Membership Application Integration:
- A new membership application form, matching the design and flow of the official KofC application page
- Auto-send form submissions to membership directors
- Homepage & Navigation Adjustments:
- “Plan Your Visit” replaced with Join Our Council (linking to official KofC join page)
- “Calendar” replaced with Events (linking to custom-built events page)
- “Donate Now” removed per client request
- Submit Prayer Requests section enhanced with CAPTCHA
- Display of submitted prayers on homepage
- Content Updates & Fixes:
- “New Here?” redirect corrected to “Why Join” section
- Removal of outdated content sections such as “Activities”
- Integration of KofC membership resources directly on the homepage
- Ensured accurate routing from prayer links to full prayer details, not generic blog pages
- Secure Member-Only Area:
- Creation of a Council 10861 Minutes page
- Secure login/logout functionality for members to access this content
- Login data mapped to user accounts and made trackable in the backend
- Our Deliverables & Execution:
- We developed a custom HTML+PHP-based solution that perfectly aligned with the client’s non-CMS preferences.
- Event registration system was built with conditional logic, auto-emailing, and time slot toggling.
- Built a secure backend messaging system with user role management and internal inbox.
- Designed the membership application to visually match the KofC national site, while integrating it into the local site’s flow.
- Implemented login/logout system with access-restricted pages.
- Improved UI/UX across homepage and navigation.
- Corrected routing bugs and added real-time prayer request display.
Final Outcome:
The final website delivered a streamlined, professional, and fully functional platform tailored to the Knights of Columbus Council 10861. All requested features were implemented to specification, ensuring a seamless experience for both visitors and council members.
